2.        listen to the tape and sing the chant : a b c d e f g.
     ( teaching intention:  firstly: make the students be interested in english by singing a song, saying a chant. secondly: revise the old knowledge and lay a foundation .)
                         preview
1.      the t says the requirements , the ss should do the actions .: the t should show two things that can be compared. such as: one thing is big . the other thing is small. one thing is too long. the other one is too short.
2.      practice by train game : this shirt is colourful ,but it’s too big .

this shirt is pretty , but it’s too long.
this shirt is ok,but it’s too short .
this shirt is nice . it fits me well .

3.      listen to the tape and repeat : let’s learn , let’s talk .
    ( teaching intention:  firstly: make the students grasp the new lesson .  secondly: revise the old knowledge. )
                         presentation
1.      the t points to the five pictures on the board , and look at the watch and say : wow ! what are they ? there are so many things here. can i help you?

2.      the game of guessing words .  the t set an example .123

the t don’t speak out , let the ss look at the mouth , and then guess the words ., and then the ss do the game .

4.      the t points to the picture on the board and ask one s : what would you like for breakfast, cake or bread ?
and then ask : can you spell the word …, please ?
the t write the words on the board .
and then teach the other words .
the t can help the ss know the rules of the pronunciation , such as : u / ju:/ /^/

5.      the t say the word , the ss say together , and then practice in four , one say the word , the other three spell .
6.      listen to the tape and imitate the words .
7.      the game : draw and write .  the t classify the class into several groups , each group ask four ss , the t say the word , and the ss should draw the picture and spell the word .

                 consolidation and extension
1.      the game of spelling words , the t or the ss say one word , and then the group  should spell the word , and the t will give the winner some presents .
2.      write and say . the ss look at the pictures and fill the blanks  , ask the ss read the sentences .
3.      the game of writing words : the t write the word on the ss’ back , the s should pass the word to the last one . the last s should write the word on the board .  the quicker , the winner .
4.      story time . listen to the tape or vcd , help the ss to understand the contents of it .  then the t explain the meaning of anything else ? here’s your bill .and read the passage and by different roles .123
5.      do the wb of a  read and write .
    ( teaching intention: make the students use the new lesson after class. secondly: foster the students’ ability to study on their own. assess themselves fairly.)
