step 1 warm up
1. sing the song: in the classroom
2. free talking: what day is it today?/who’s your favourite teacher?/what do you do on saturdays?/what can you do ?/how many fans are there in our classroom?
3. review the words: curtain , air-conditioner, closet, trash bin, end table, mirror.
4. say the chant of let’s start
step 2: presentation
1. t: show a pen and say “ look, i have a pen. do you have a pen? please show me your pen.” let ss say “i have a pen too.” then t point sb’s pen and say “this is …’s pen. this is my pen. my own pen.” teach my own and write down i have my own…on the board. let ss say i have my own …first say in chain, then say in pairs.
2. t: i have my own pencil-case. please guess what’s in it?
let ss guess, then open it and say “look, there is a pen.” teach to read “there is a…” then show another pen and ask “how many pens are there? there are two pens.” teach there are…s. let ss say there is ../there are…s (about the things in the classroom)
3. t show a picture of room and say “look, this is chenjie’s room .what’s it like?” lead them to say “there is a…/there are…s” then do groupwork.
4. t show own room and say “i have my own room. there is a …/there are …s. do you have your own room? let ss say “yes. i have my own room now.” then t say “really, what’s it like?” teach this sentence.
5. t: show let’s try and say “look, there is a room, there is a room too. there are two rooms. what’s it like? let’s listen which room is mike’s .”then check.
6. t: sarah has her own room now. what’s it like? please listen and answer my question , then look at the dialogue and follow to say. half a and half b say the dialogue, then say in pairs. finally close books and recite it.
7. show your own room and make dialogue in pairs.
8. listen and draw .
9. t: today we learned how to describe our own room. i have my own room now. there is a …/there are …s.
step 3: assessment
1. do activity book
2. introduce your own room to your friends and make another dialogue.
3. listen , read and recite let’s talk
