unit 10 where are you going on holiday?
i. objectives
1. work with language 1
2. vocabulary: half, past, half past seven, quarter, a quarter to ten,
3. can talk about the time in two ways.

1. revision
(1) game: look and write the numbers. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 20, 25,13, 30, 35, 45, 55
(2) game: what time is it? (电脑呈现)
it’s three o’clock/ eight fifteen/ eleven thirty/ twelve forty-five/ two fifty.
2. presentation
(1) what time is it?
it’s two ten.
=it’s ten past two. (除了时、分的表达,还有分、时的时间表达法)
(2) explain : past (时针在30分之前用past)
3. practise:
what time is it? it’s five past three/ twenty past eight/ twenty-five past twelve.
4. present: what time is it? (7.15 11.30)
it’s a quarter past seven/ half past eleven.
explain: quarter , half
5. guessing game: what time is it? 8.05 3.10 7.15 4.20 9.25 12.30 6.45
it’s a quarter to seven. (时针过了30分钟后,用to,表示差15分到7点)
6. practise in pairs:

7. game: match the time and the clocks
8. work with language: read and draw the hands of the clocks.
9. ask some students to draw the hands of the clocks on the blackboard.

(7) watch again and check the answers.
(8) find out the new words: fantastic, get, hong kong, super, leave for, yours
(9) learn the new word and explain the phrases
