本单元围绕“写信”这一主题,从谈论自己的笔友入手到着手给笔友回信,把有关“自我介绍”、“询问他人信息”、“征求意见”等日常交际用语、词汇和句型有机地结合在一起,并运用于对话和课文中。本文的信息量较大,但所示内容贴近学生日常生活,很有实用价值。只要设计得当,学生能够从本文学到的不会仅仅是书本知识。根据“英语课程标准”描述,基础教育阶段英语课程的任务是:激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生树立自信心,养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略,发展自主学习的能力和合作精神;使学生掌握一定的英语基础知识和听说读写技能,形成一定的和语言运用能力;培养学生的观察、记忆、思维、想象能力和创新精神;帮助学生了解世界和中西方文化的差异,拓展视野,为他们的终身 和发展打下良好的基础。入手设计第一课时,统观整个单元的各个版块,我把本课的教学目标设定如下:
一、认知目标:
1.能听、说、读、写单词和词组:penfriend, glue, envelope, postcard, writing paper, write a letter, e-mail address, a telephone number, a fax machine.
2.能听、说、读、写句型:
can i have a/an/some/the…?
what for?
i want to…
sure. here you are.
3.能区分可数名词和不可数名词。
二、能力目标:
1. 能有节奏地学说小诗<i want to write a letter>。
2.能根据中英文信封的对比,尝试学写英文信封。
三、情感目标:
1.通过本单元词句的学习,培养学生礼貌询问的习惯。
2.通过学习英文信件的写法,激发学生交流的欲望,进而提高学生读写能力。
step1.free talk
what day is it today? what’s the weather like today? what do you want to do after school? what do you want for supper? what are you going to do this weekend? do you have any good friends? do you have any penfriends? do you want a penfriend?
step2.presentation and practice
1.today we will learn unit 7 a letter to a penfriend.(read the title.)
2.ben has got two penfriends, taylor and peter. what does he want to do? let’s see.
3.try to read the rhyme.
小诗是本单元最后一个版块的内容,围绕两个新朋友展开,句末押韵,朗朗上口,没有什么新的内容,仅是作为开场任务抛砖引玉。
4.can i have a try? (write on the bb: can i have…?)
在学生听音模仿后题出尝试,既给学生以朗读示范,也顺势引出本课的重句型can i have …?
5.talk about the pictures with the key structures: (ppt)

7.welcome to the study. look, what’s in it?
(1)a fax machine—send a fax, a telephone number
(2)a computer—send an e-mail, an e-mail address
(3)what’s in the drawer? there is a/ an /some….(an envelope, a postcard, writing paper, glue)
(4)there’s some writing paper and some glue in the draw.—writing paper and glue are uncountable nouns.
(5)how to say: 一张信纸,两张信纸,一些信纸,一瓶胶水
(6)can you give some other phrases of uncountable nouns?
8.t: can i have a piece of paper?
s: what for?
t: i want to make a paper plane for my son.12
s: ok. here you are.

step3.consolidation
1.just now, the magic key helped me to open my friend’s door. but, that was not polite to my friend. we must tell him about it. how can we do?
2.there are many ways to do it. please use the key structure to practice. (ppt) i want to …. can i have…?
3.i want to write a letter to him. besides these things, we also need to know how to write the envelope in english. (ppt: compare two envelopes, to find out the difference between them.)
step4.assessment
1.summery:
today we have learnt many things about connection. read all the phrases.
2.homework:
(1)copy the phrases 3 times each.
(2)translate the chinese envelope into english.
