teaching aims and demands:
1\ to know the background of christmas.
2\ use the drills: who are they from? they are from grandpa and grandma and the single form .
3\ master the drills: whose …it it\are they? to use the words: mine\his\hers\yours…well. know the differences between my and mine\your and yours etc.
teaching aids: computer, some materials and cards.
teaching steps:
step1: revision
1\ sing a song : if you are happy.
2\ ask and answer the drills we have learned: what is the date today? when is your birthday? what would you like as a birthday present? introduce your birthday present for the children. review the words. when is christmas day? it’s on the 25th of december. what would you like as a christmas present?
step2: new teaching
1\ do you know what presents jim got on christmas day? today we will learn: unit 9 at christmas.
2\ before we watch the vcd. i will give you a question: what presents were there under the christmas tree?
3\ listen and watch once then answer the questions. let the students pick out the presents from the christmas tree.
4\ listen to the text again then match the person and the presents.
5\ point out the drills: whose … is it? it’s his. who is it from? it’s from grandpa. tell how to use the drills. teacher shows the students’ birthday present. let them try to say the drills.
6\ tell how to use the pronouns.
step 3 drill and practise
1\ show us the presents from others then act the drills: whose …is this? who is it from?
2\do some exercise of choosing the correct pronouns.
3\ read the text by themselves again. underline all the pronouns tell the rules of the words using.
4\exercise: choose a|b or c to check if they understand the text or not.
step 4 consolidation
1\ do you like christmas? let’s have a christmas party ok? before we have the party answer some questions: a\ how people greet each other on christmas day? b\ when you get the presents from others you should do what?
2\ show them an example of giving and receiving the presents.
3\ have the party and say something about the presents. use the drills in this text.
4\ homework: prepare a christmas present for your parents and friends. practise the words and drills of this lesson well.

名词性物主代词单独使用,如:the pen is mine. it’s hers.
注:形容词性物主代词+名词=名词性物主代词。如:my book=mine,
her pens=hers
exercise 1: read after the tape then fill in the blanks with the correct words.
the wallet is jim’s grandfather’s. it’s his. it’s from grandma. it’s from her.
the skateboard and the calculator are jim’s. they are ______. they are from mum and dad. they are from ______.
the teapot and the tea are jim’s grandmother’s. they are ____. they are from grandpa. they are from _____.
the watch is jim’s father’s. it’s ____. it’s from grandpa and grandma. they are from ____.
the hairdryer is jim’s mother’s. it’s ______. it’s from grandpa and grandma. they are from them.
exercise 2: listen to the song then fill in the blanks.
my shirt’s black but _____ is white.
_____ coat’s new but mine is old.
her cat’s thin but ____ is fat.
____ dog’s tall but hers is short.
our pens are long but _____ are short.
_____ bags are big but ours are small.
exercise 3: use more than 6 pronouns to write a story.
example: my birthday presents
today is my birthday. i have got so many presents from my family and friends. the skateboard is from mum. it’s from her. i like it very much. the pens are from kate and betty. they are from them.
