unit 4 what can they do?
i. objectives
1. vocabulary: kangaroo, frog, turtle, far, fly, own, gift.
2. language focus:
(1) i can jump very high and very far.
(2) can you jump?
(3) everyone has his own gift.
3. reinforce : sound families.
a, e, i, o, u, ea, ee, er, ear
ii. procedures
1. pre – task: sound families.
(1) whole class look and say
a /ei:/
e: /i:/
i: /ai/
o: /au/
u: /ju:/
ea: /i:/
er: //
ee: /i:/
ear: /i:/
(2) game. say as quick as you can.
2. while - task
(1) present: kangaroo, frog, turtle
let the students listen carefully then try to spell the words.
(2)t: they are three animals
can you guess what they are?
(3) present pictures.
kangaroo, frog, turtle…
they are the friends of human beings. we should kill the frogs and turtles.
(4) t: every animal has his own gift. i`ll give each group of you three sentences. pls
put the right sentence on the right place.
group work must finish in two minutes
(5) ask one or two groups to read their sentences.
(6) present the right order then read in groups.
(7) present three sentences then let the students to match the sentences with animals
(8) check and read the sentences by themselves.
(9) show pictures and say
kangaroo can jump
frog can jump and swim .
(10) teach: fly, own, gift.
whole class read and remember the new words.
(11) listen to the tape and read.
(12) read the dialogue in pairs.
3. post – task
(1) retell the dialogue.
(2) underline the main sentences
(3) p10. ex4. ex3
homework:
1. listen, read and recite the dialogue.
2. copy the dialogue.

2. can talk about what the animals can /can`t do
3. language focus: work with language
the baby can walk now. look, he is walking slowly.
ii. procedures
1. warming up: greetings (talk about the animals you like and where they are from. why we should protect them?)12
2. pre- task
(1) listen and chant.
(2) listen and sing:
anything you can do, i can do better than you .
(3) read and act the dialogue.
3. while - task
(1) game: look and say.
turtles can swim
frogs can …
cats can….
(2)open text book on page 19
listen to the sentences and write the numbers of the sentences under the pictures
(3) check the answers , then teach: hill
(4) talk about the pictures in pairs.
for example, the baby can walk now. look, he is walking slowly.
(5) ask two or three pairs to talk about the pictures they like.
homework:
1. listen, read and recite the dialogue.
2. activity book . ex1 -4

2. can read and act the dialogue in groups
ii. procedures
1. warming up: greetings

(2) look and say what they can do / can`t do
3. while - task
(1) t: what can the robot do ?
present: robot
(2)t: pleas guess what the robot can do?

present: speak,
(3) listen to the tape and answer questions.

(4) distinguish: talk, walk, work
(5) listen and try to imitate the dialogue.
(6) read and imitate in groups
4. post - task
(1) take notes.
