pictures of city and village . pictures of some flowers , grass and trees. the cards of key sentences.
cai. some pictures of nature park.
teaching procedures:
step1 warm up/ revision
1. introduce myself
2. devide the whole class into 3 groups. they are flower group, grass group and tree group.
3. revice words they have learned last lesson. draw a lake , let ss say the word, and then stick the pictures of forest, mountain, path, river and river one by one . these pictures make up a nature park. and ask ss what’s in the nature park? ss revice the sentences using there is….
step 2 presentation
1. teaching: there is a nature park in the city.
cai shows ss a picture of jiulonghu nature park. and ask what’s this? where is it? do you know?
present the sentence : there is a nature park in zhenhai. present dongqianhu nature park in the same way. and explain city. t: ningbo is a beautiful city. there are some tall buildings , cars in the city. shanghai is a large city. beijing is a large city too. cai presents a picture and ask: is it a city?
ss: no!. compare the pictures of city and village.
2.lead in the new sentence pattern
show them two pictures in the part of let’s try. let them compare these two pictures and find the differences between them. and then the sentes will appear through cai as follows:
there is a mountain, a lake and a forest in picture 1. there is a lake , a mountain, a forest and a river in picture 2.
t: point one picture and ask is there a rive in the park? stick the card of this sentence on board. let ss practise to read it. then learn to say , yes, there is. and no, there isn’t. is there a farm?
step 3 practice
1.show them a picture in the part of pair work and let ss ask and answer about this picture with sentences : is there …? yes, there is. and no, there isn’t.
2.listening exercises: let’s try.
3.listen to the dialogue and answer the questions
4.reading the dialogue
step 4 extension
1.show them a picture the disappeares and ask them ask and answer about it with pattern: is there…?
2.let ss guess with the key sentence patterns12
3.see how many gifts has each group got? and use them to recall they have learned in this lesson .
step 5 homework
1. make a dialogue with partner after class.12
