教材解读 
本单元重点学习12个月份的名称及序数词的教学。但因为12个月份的名称在同一课时中全部出现并要求认读，所以教师应注意呈现方式的多样性和趣味性。本单元的月份与前一单元的四季其实相辅相承，教师可以采用以旧引新的方式，自然、流畅地引入新课。序数词教学时教师应引导学生自主发现基数词到序数词的变化规律，并提醒学生关注不规则变法。本单元主题为“when is your birthday ?”，内容拓展至“when is children’s day ?”等，涉及到生日，节日的日期或月份。
教学目标 1、 能力目标
（1）、能够说出12个月份的名称以及数字1到20的序数词形式。
（2）、能够询问并回答某人生日在哪一月份，如：when is your birthday ? my birthday is in june.能够表述家人或朋友的生日在哪一天，如：uncle bill’s birthday is in june.等。
（3）、能够询问并回答某天是几月几号，如：what’s the date ?it’s february 2th.
（4）、能够询问并回答某人生日是否在某一月份，如：is her birthday in june ? yes.
（5）、能够听懂、会唱歌曲“when is your birthday ? ”
2、知识目标
（1）能够掌握a、b部分let’s learn中生词的缩写形式，以及read and write
中的四会单词和四会句子。
（2）、能够听、说、认读a、b部分let’s talk中的句型和a、b部分let’s learn中的三会单词。
（3）、能够了解字母组合ear/eer/ch/sh的发音规律并能读出例词。
（4）、能够了解story time，good to know等部分的内容。

（1）情感目标：引导学生热爱自然、关心环境与气候变化。
（2）策略目标：引导学生注重合作，广泛阅读，扩大知识面。
（3）文化目标：引导学生了解中西方共有的或特有的节日和风俗。

难点
1、能够熟练说出12个月份的名称以及数字1到20的序数词形式。
2、能在实际生活中询问并回答某人生日在哪一月份，能够表述家人或朋友的生日在哪一天，能够询问并回答某天是几月几号，能够询问并回答某人生日是否在某一月份。

学情分析 12个月份的教学，五年级上册的recycle  2 let’s chant部分的歌谣，已为本单元的教学内容做了铺垫，在一定程度上减轻了学生的学习难度。序数词教学也在四年级下册第一单元中接触过first和second，在此基础上过渡到整个序数词体系的教学是比较自然合理的。但因为12个月份的名称在同一课时中全部出现并要求认读，所以教师应注意呈现方式的多样性和趣味性，避免一味地按序呈现，机械跟读。

教师播放五年级上册recy 2中let’s chant部分的录音，在黑板上按1-12的顺序张贴12个月份的单词卡片，学生跟录音并有节奏地吟唱歌谣。
【设计意图】通过吟唱，学生基本上说出12个月份的名称，并能通过新课进一步掌握。
二、 presentation
1、教师指着12个月份的卡片，对学生说：there are 12 months in a year ?
a: which months are warm who knows ?
教学根据学生的回答,把march \april,may贴在春季方格内新式板书三月四月的简写形式，并进行拼读写字。
b:教师指着夏季方格，画一轮艳阳，表情夸张地说：oh,summer is after spring and it’s hot.which months are in summer?根据学生的回答教师把june\july\august贴在夏季方框，并板书august的简写形式，指导学生拼读、拼写。
c:画一棵风中飘落黄叶树，问学生：which season is it ? ss:it’s fall .
which months are in it ?根据学生的回答把september october november贴在秋季方框并进行板书简写形式，然后指导拼读拼写。
d:在冬季方框内，教师贴上剩余的三个月份，板书简写形式，然后指导拼读拼写。
【设计意图】通过分季节呈现单词，让学生对四季的天气情况，有了更深的理解四时，培养了学生学习的规律性。
2、利用月份大转盘让学生拼读12个月份。

3、师生一起做“before and after”的游戏。
教师面向学生宣布游戏规则：老师随机给出一个单词，举左手说出前一个单词，举右手说出后一个单词，如，february 举左手说january举右手说march ,要求速度快，读音谁。
【设计意图】通过游戏，使学生在玩中学，增加学习乐趣，并使他们有一种成功感。
4、教师播放let’s learn部分的录音，学生跟读。
【设计意图】训练学生的听力，纠正读音，加强语音能力的训练。
三、practice
1、教师说：my favourite month is decmber,because my birthday is in december.教师问学生when is your birthday?can you tell me ?教师与学生进行大范围问答。

2、学生之间进行pair work，两人一组练习句型。
【设计意图】通过师生问答由浅入深，融单词与句子之中，不但巩固了单词，而且接受和理解了句型。
四、production
1、学生进行连锁问答后，教师出示let’s learn部分的调查表，问学生who has a birthday in january ?stand up.学生听清指令后做出反应，教师点清人数后填入表内。
2、同样对其他11个月份所含的生日情况进行调查，并记录人数。
3、教师播放let’s chant部分录音，学生听懂后根据指令做动作然后跟着节奏边说边做。
【设计意图】由语言学习的输入到输出，学以致用，增强学生学习的信心，达到了语言学习真正目的。

a．教师指着黑板上画好的12层大楼，提问学生：

回答：there are 12 floors.
教师将单词卡片january贴在一楼， it’s on the first floor. 教师板书first(1st)。学生一起朗读first。
教师说：january is the first month. it’s on the first floor. 学生模仿并进行拓展会话，如：
february is second month. it’s on the second floor.学生一起读second。板书2nd．
march is on the third floor .齐读third.板书 3rd．
b．教师出示april 的卡片提问：what about april? 教师自己回答：april is the fourth month. it’s on the fourth floor. 教师贴卡片并板书fourth(4th)，学生齐读单词。同样方法教授6th，7th，8th，9th，10th，11th．引导学生注意由eight到eighth的发音变化以及ninth(9th)的缩写形式。
c．教师指着第五层楼问学生：now, who lives on this floor? 学生应回答：may. 教师说：yes, it’s may. may is the fifth month. it’s on the fifth floor.
教师强调该词是fifth 而非fiveth，师生一起朗读fifth。
同样的方法教学12th，教师引导学生找出其变化规律。
d．game：you say, i say!
  一个学生说基数词，另一个学生说序数词，然后再反过来。如：
  s1: one.   s2: the first.
  s2: two.   s1: the second.
(2)教学对话
a．教师提问：when is zhang peng’s birthday? do you know? 学生听音并回答：it’s oct 1st.教师介绍oct 1st，our national day.
 zhang peng is from china. china’s national day is oct 1st. but in america, it is called independence day.
b．请学生说一说“national day”和“independence day”是什么节日。教师领读这两个节日。
c、听音跟读单词和句子。

1、教师挑选20日之前的日期让学生试读，帮助学生自如地表达具体日期。
2、小组内练习
