【teaching aims】1. be able to read and spell“numbers 1-10”
2. be able to ask and answer “how old is he/she? he/she is…. what’s his/her name? his/her name is….”
3. be able to introduce others in english: “this is … he/she is my friend, he /she is…”
【teaching emphasis】1. spell and read “numbers 1-10”. 2. use the sentence pattern freely.
【teaching difficulties】the sound “sick, three, his, name”
【teaching steps】
step 1: let’s sing
t: good morning, class. let’s sing “ten little indian boys ”together.
s: sing the song together.
step 2: let’s learn
1.t: look! what’s this?
s: it’s a cake.
t: yes, it’s a birthday cake. (write “birthday cake on the blackboard”).
s: read three times after the teacher.
t: whose birthday is today? oh, it’s ann’s birthday. how old is she? let’s count the candles together.
s: one, two, three, four, five ,six, seven, eight.
t: oh, she is eight. (write: “how old is she? she is eight.)
2. t: (show the number cards 1-10) please look and say the numbers.
s: say thgether.
t: let’s play magic eyes. can you read as quickly as you can.
s: have a try.
step 3: ask and answer
t: what’s your name? (ask a boy)
s1: my name is….
t: what’s his name?
s2: his name is…
t: what’s your name? (ask a girl)
s3: my name is ….
t: what’s her name?
s4: her name is….
t: his nameis…, her name is…. (write: his name is…. her name is….)
step 3: let’s play
t: i have a good friend. his name is tom. how old is he? he is six.
do you have a good friend? let’s play a game. this is a flower. give the flower to your good friend and introduce him/her to us.
s: pass the flower and introduce their good friends.
step 4: let’s listen and say
1. t: please watch and listen part a. answer questions:
1. what’s his name?
2. how old is he?
3. how is he?
s1: his name is chen dong.
s2: he is six.
s3: he’s sick.
t: sick means not very well. (write: sick)
s: read “sick” three times.
2. listen to the tape and read part a.
homework: 1. listen and read part a.
2. after class, ask ten students in english “how old is he/she?”12
