马丁一家买来一个机器人当管家，可男主人马丁很快发现：这个名叫安德鲁的机器人，不仅有非凡的创造力，甚至还能表达情感。安德鲁一直称男主人的小女儿为“小小姐”，并和她建立了深厚的感情；几十年过去了，安德鲁已经成为马丁家族的一员，在一个工程师的帮助下，他从内到外一点点的，几乎变成了一个真正的人，安德鲁还发现自己陷入了爱情-——爱上了“小小姐“的孙女，外貌酷似“小小姐”的波西娅。这段机器人与人的科幻爱情将面临什麽样的考验?
这部影片改编自著名的科幻小说家艾萨克-阿西莫夫(Isaac Asimov)科幻小说。这部影片中的机器人角色由好莱坞最受欢迎的喜剧明星之一罗宾威廉姆斯扮演，因为直到快结束时才露出真人的脸，而且随着他变成人的手术的一步步完成，形体、动作、面部表情在一点点增加，观众注意欣赏他变成人的过程中，表演分寸上的层次变化。
"Bicentennial Man" is a bomb of epic proportions. Robin Williams stars as a robot who is just too smart to be an android. He has human characteristics such as creativity and curiosity and this leads him to have a long and basically empty journey to become as close to human as possible. His story goes on for 200 years and runs 131 minutes (it feels like 200 years). Robin Williams is wasted in this film which lacks character development, drama, a suitable screenplay, and sharp direction. Not much of a movie. 2 stars out of 5.
