ⅰ.teaching aims:
1) to learn something about the places of interest in the worl d, especially th e interesting places in china.
2) improve the s tudents’ ability of showing their opinions
3) to make the students know more about our motherland and be proud of our motherland
ⅱ.language focus:
return tickets, twist and turn, mountain chain, in the fifth century bc, take shape, the great wall , be fascinated by…
ⅲ.properties: tape, recorder, ppt
ⅳ.teaching procedu res:
step 1 warming up: show a photo that the teacher took in jiuzaigou, say something about it and t hen get the students to talk about the places they have been during the summer holidays
step 2 lead-in:
(1)show some pictures of the places of interesting in the world, get the students to say something about them.
(2)enjoy a video: show some interesting places in chin a.
step 3 discussion: talk about the places of interesting in china
1.which place of interesting have you been?
2.how do you like it? what c an you see there?
3.which place do you want to visit most? why?
step 4 go over the new words and expressions
step 5. listen to the tape, ask and answer the questions
step 6. groups work: fill in the form, and then draw a conclusion
step 7 writing : get the students to write a short passage about the places of interesting in china.
ⅴ.homework:
1.go over the text and finish the exercises
2.writing a composition
as a tour guide, you are asked to say something about the differences of traveling in beijing and in hai nan.
