（一）综述
本章节介绍了颜色与人的个性、早期人类、人们生活的关系以及人对不同颜色的不同反应。该文深入浅出地介绍了颜色的不同含义，告诉学生正确使用颜色大有学问，借此引导学生关注生活细节，关注身边的科学。
本课主要有三个任务：
1 学生通过对课文的学习，掌握一些核心词汇，例如：fascinate, basic, associate, persuade等。
2 通过课文学习，让学生掌握高中基本的段落写作方式，即topic sentence +supporting sentences +conclusion
3 通过拓展对生活中色彩的学习，提升学生对科学的兴趣。

（二）阅读目标
1 知识目标
学习课文中重点词、词组、句型和语法。
2 能力目标
提高学生对科普文章的阅读能力，了解高中基本段落写作的方式。
3 情感目标
加强学生关注生活细节的意识，提高学生对身边的科学的兴趣。

（三）教学方法
采用任务型教学法组织教学，通过听说，分组讨论等具体活动，达到教学效果。

while-reading  在此过程中，要求学生准确把握课文所传递的关键信息，并且能分析文章的结构和思路。在整体理解内容的基础上掌握课文中出现的重点词汇。
 通过课文p20、21上的图片和skimming使学生获得本文的体裁，主题，等信息。
 通过课文上scanning的练习让学生归纳每段的段落大意，找出每段的关键词。见[链接2]这一设计帮助学生熟悉课文主要内容，在此基础上 1）使学生熟悉本课的关键词、词组和句子；2）使学生了解argument与supporting ideas的关系，让学生对高中的基本段落写作有感性认识。
 在[链接2]表格的基础上让学生复述课文。 
post-reading   在课本p23练习d2, d3的基础上，拓展关于颜色的表达方式。
 模仿课文topic sentence +supporting sentences +conclusion的格式，写文章my favourite colour
