1. students will be able to learn a new way to express “dates”.
2. students will be able to make invitations, say “yes” or “no” to invitations and give reasons with “ can you …?”,  “yes, i’d love to”, and “i’m sorry, i can’t. i have to…/ i’m doing…”

students will develop the listening and speaking skills.

students will learn to invite others politely;

through learning to invite others politely and accept or refuse the invitation in a polite way, help ss to make good relations with others.

1. through pair work and group work, help ss to form a good communication skill.
2. through the guessing game, encourage ss to take an active part in class.

make invitations, say “yes” to invitations, say “no” to invitations and give reasons.

1. lead-in
enjoy a song “the months”.

2. the dates
a. a brief review of the dates through a game.
guess about:
christmas day, children’s day, tree planting day, new year’s day and teacher’s day.

b. learn the new way to express dates.
learn the new expressions on a calendar. finish 1a-1c
c. chant
chant about the days and the activities.
(自编歌谣,巩固新学的表达方法,并为下一步的活动做过渡。)
3. schedules and invitations
ask ss to make their schedules according to the model given and then talk about their schedule in the following way:
a: it’s monday the 13th today. i’m going to the library. can you go with me?
b: sure, i’d love to.\ sorry, i can’t, i have to…\i’m…
(学生制作日程表,并用邀请和被邀请的形式反馈,贴近学生的生活实际,培养学生良好的人际关系和较高的文化修养.)
4.listening
a. listen to the conversation and circle “yes” or “no”.
b. listen to the conversation again and match, focus on vince’s activities.
(在学生了解了如何礼貌地邀请和被邀请的基础上做听力,使学生实现对目标语言的巩固,培养学生听的能力。)
5.groupwork
students will invite others to a party and meanwhile, they are supposed to give replies like “yes, i’d love to”, or “i’m sorry, i can’t. i have to…/ i’m doing…”
(邀请小组成员参加聚会,并对其他成员的邀请作出答复,使学生在小组合作中运用目标语言。)
6. making a report 12
students try to report the replies of their group to the class like:

thanks for your invitation. in our group, …’d like to join in the party. he / she is coming on….but … can’t come because …. wish you have a wonderful school day party!

7. advice
give some students advice on how to make invitations and reply to invitations.
