一、 章节分析 （section analysis）
(一) 综述
这部分作为补充材料，从字典中截取了与colour相关的词汇，是原汁原味，鲜活的语言材料，同时也可以帮助学生掌握正确使用字典的方法。另外，通过练习可以训练学生在字典中正确找到信息的能力。重点学习colour，fade等词汇。
本设计中主要向教师介绍对材料的处理，并对本课的内容设计一些拓展活动。

2．帮助学生如何有效地使用字典
3．培养学生自学的能力。
（三） 重点和难点
1．词汇学习

2. 了解字典中不同符号的含义以及如何能有效地使用字典，培养学生的自学能力。

pre-reading 要求学生每人带一本英汉双解字典到课堂上，利用书上的fade这个单词来介绍如何有效地使用字典。在学生查字典前先设几个问题，引导学生快速准确地找到问题的答案。然后把学生自己查到的fade与课本上提供的材料作一个简单的对比，找到课本提供的fade英文释义的相应中文解释。这个前奏为学生阅读材料作了铺垫。
while-reading 1． 通过reading 练习巩固学生对查字典的掌握情况。
2． 学生可能在阅读的过程中还会碰到生词，可以用学生自备的字典查出新单词的用法。
3． 讲解color作动词的用法，以及fade的用法。
4． 通过听力练习再次巩固这些重点词汇。
post-reading 通过查字典，让学生去了解颜色可能不再是单纯的标色彩，有时还蕴含了另一种情感意义表达，比如：green eye，in a blue mood，black sheep, green hand 等等。可以让学生去查找类似的常用词组，以拓展词汇量。
